It's Teaser Tuesday, a bookish blog meme hosted every week by MizB of Should Be Reading. Here's how it works:
Grab your current read and let it fall open to a random page (or if you're reading on an electronic device, pick a random number and scroll to that section). Post two or more sentences from that page, along with the book title and author. Share your find with others in the comments at Should Be Reading, and don't give anything vital away!
“In addition to the usual strong smell of curry, I can make out the smoky smell of boiling banana leaves. That means Deema is making either pastelles or paymee, a cake made out of grated cassava, coconut, and sugar, wrapped in a banana leaf.”
p. 30 of Ramin Ganeshram’s Stir It Up!

pastelles and cassava? A Hispanic book? Whooot! I'm off to add this to my reading list. Great teaser!
Ok so it's not Hispanic but it still sounds goooooooood.
Juju: The descriptions of food in this book have my mouth watering the ENTIRE TIME. Yum!
Ohhh..that sounds good..:D
People mock me because I am so not a foodie. I hate to cook and I totally pass on eating menu items that I have never heard of.
So boiled banana leaves...not so much my taste lol
However, still a great teaser for those who love food and have great taste.

Looks like a fun book! Bet it's making you hungry though ;)
It's funny how a description of food can make your mouth water even when you KNOW it wouldn't be your taste... nice teaser!
